The Land Rover car design takes us back to a beach in Wales, just after WW2. The very beginning of Land Rover itself is the fabled story of brothers Maurice and Spencer Wilks, sketching out the simple design of what would become an enduring and iconic classic 4WD vehicle. A simple design, because times were hard. Cause, well, the war. Materials, even the most basic ones, were hard to come by. Remind anyone of this past year?
Hard times require a vehicle that is tough as nails. But with a dash of fun thrown in. Like this Defender 110 with the factory delivered V8. Ready to tear up the nearest dirt road or a quick jaunt into town. Yes, even in winter. This is after all a car for hard men/women/people. However you identify, you can find yourself in this beautiful beast. Coping with hard times and having some fun doing it is in its bones. 73 years after its conception it is relevant as ever. Even if you don’t want to go hauling livestock. You can always drive it to the next Woodstock.
We are very proud to present what we believe to be our best Defender restoration to date. And believe us, we have done a few. This 110 V8 5 door started its life as a United Nations vehicle. Over the past few years she has undergone a full nut and bolt restoration by us with the body removed from the chassis. Meaning all of the mechanical, electrical, interior, exterior. Under the bonnet you will find her rebuilt original V8 Rover engine with raised compression and a special camshaft for a better response. Our mechanics have upgraded her with a Holley fuel injection system that also controls the MSD ignition system. Mated to this wonderful V8 engine is a rebuilt gearbox with rebuilt transfer case and rebuilt axles. The steering gears have also been rebuilt. This 110 V8 is better than new mechanically and ready for many more fun miles. Keeping her fully original but upgrading where we can.
Behind the lovely shade of Mercedes Desert Sand you will find a high quality custom leather interior finished with custom Elm wood flooring. We have fitted her with a new mohair soft top which is fitted on top of the safety roll cage, the rear of this soft top can be removed. And if the convertible roof can’t cool you down in summer, she comes with factory original air conditioning. A very rare option on a Defender.
To finish her off, billet accessories and a Marshall sound system were fitted as well as LED lights throughout for better visibility. We will still fit 4 seats in the rear and finish the door panels in the same leather.
She is the best and most complete 110 V8 5 door which you will find today. You really have to check her out and appreciate the hours of love that have been put into her by us.
